We are the Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and we have been educating and caring for the children of North Haven and the surrounding communities at St. Frances Cabrini Daycare & Preschool Learning Center for over 34 years under the ownership of the local Catholic Church.  In 2018, the Archdiocese of Hartford granted us a wonderful opportunity to assume ownership of our school.  Thus, since September 2018, we have been operating as Sacred Heart of Jesus Daycare-Preschool-Kindergarten.  Our mission of educating the young and devoting ourselves to their betterment and that of their families remains the same, but we have expanded our program to include two-year-olds for daycare and five- to six-year-olds for kindergarten.  We now have the pleasure of shepherding the little ones in our care through their most formative years, from two-years through six-years old.

 

Our Administration and Staff

 

Director: Sister Jacinta Ibe, SCGR

 

            The Director of Sacred Heart of Jesus Daycare-Preschool-Kindergarten, Inc. oversees the staff, students, curriculum, licensing, professional development as well as the management of the School Center.  Sister Jacinta, a Sister of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, is originally from Nigeria. 

• She professed as a Religious Sister in the Congregation in Lewiston, New York on August 21, 1993.

• Graduated from Albertus Magnus College in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. 

• Earned a Certificate in Early Childhood Education from Gateway Community College in 2004.

• Nursery School Head Teacher and also taught 3- & 4-Year-old students

• In June 2009, Sr. Jacinta was transferred to Nigeria to assume the role of Leadership within her Congregation in guiding the Sisters and establishing schools for the underprivileged community.

• March 30, 2017, Sr. Jacinta was sent back to North Haven, CT to again, continue her Leadership with the Sisters in the Connecticut Congregation.

• Sr. Jacinta is currently attending Albertus Magnus College to complete the Master’s Degree Program that she began in 2008. 

• The Teachers all have certifications in Infant/Child First Aid, CPR, and the administration of medication to students with life threatening medical conditions such as allergies to food/bees.  Sister Jacinta is available Monday through Friday from 9:00AM-5:00PM.
