ADMISSIONS & ENROLLMENT POLICIES

Please Call the Office (203) 889-2531 to schedule an appointment to tour our School and register your child.

Enrollment Policy ~ We accept all children regardless of race, color, religion.  A registration packet must be completed and returned at the time of registration.  Ours is a flexible model that recognizes families schedules and circumstances change, sometimes daily.  Please contact us for any admissions/enrollment questions, as we are confident we can work with you and your child's needs.  Our low tuition distinguishes us as the most affordable private school in the area, and we shall gladly share our rates with you when you visit and tour our facility and see for yourself.

Toilet training ~ POTTY TRAINING IS PART OF THE LEARNING EXPERIENCE FOR TWO AND THREE YEAR-OLDS. Thus, we accept students, even older ones, who are still potty training or are preparing for it.  We know it can be difficult to find a program that welcomes children who are not yet fully trained or are experiencing difficulties.  We are here to help you with this important milestone, and together, we shall succeed for and with your child.

All students must be accompanied by an adult when dropped off or picked up.  They must also be signed in and out each day with the adult’s signature as well as the time dropped off and picked up.  The State requires us to have a record of attendance and this list is also used in the event of an emergency, so we are aware of who is in the building. An emergency form and “alternate pick up” form is distributed on the first day of school and kept in the students’ folder.  Alternate pick up adults are required to show their driver’s license, which will be photocopied and filed in the students folder.

Change of clothes ~  Accidents do happen occasionally.  We ask that each family have in a complete set of shirt, pants, underwear & socks stored in a Ziploc bag labeled with the child’s first and last name which will stay in their backpacks.

Food Allergies ~ We are a peanut/tree nut free school due to food allergies in order to provide a safe environment for all children.

Birthdays ~  Every child’s birthday will be celebrated on a day closest to their birthday.  Parents are welcome to bring a treat to school.

Sharing ~  Each teacher will send home a notice regarding your child’s share day and objects that can be shared in their classroom.

Outdoor clothing ~  Please send your child to school with a coat each day as the weather varies especially in the fall and spring.  During winter months, please send children with a hat, mittens & boots, if necessary.  We go outdoors if the temperature is above 32 degrees with little or no wind-chill.  Also we occasionally send home permission slips to play outside in the snow & sledding.

Snacks ~ Snacks and drinks are provided twice a day by the Sisters and Staff of Sacred Heart of Jesus Daycare-Preschool-Kindergarten Center.  Children with food allergies are given snacks that are approved by their Parent/Guardian as well as their pediatrician. Parents will be asked during the year to provide snacks. We can guide you on which snacks are preferred.

Lunch ~   Lunch is to be provided by Parents/Guardians of our students.  We ask that you pack their lunch with an ice-pack to keep sandwiches, drinks, yogurts, etc., cold.  Please pack a healthy lunch with minimal “junk food” items.  Parents/Guardians must also label their child’s lunch bag.

Parent Volunteers ~ We always welcome Parents/Guardians to volunteer and assist in our activities at our Center.

*A Volunteer form is given at the beginning of the school year.
